Reception have been having a look in the school pond and found lots of exciting things! It was lovely to see the children exploring the world around them and making observations about what they found. 

We had a mysterious letter left for us and when we opened it it was from the minions asking us for help! All this week we have been writing our letters back, explaining what might be in the pond (we guessed they had frog spawn from the slimy stuff they mentioned).

Everyone in Early Years had a fantastic time at Broom House Farm today! Thank you to Jane and Ruth for showing us around and introducing us to your animals. 

The children had a great experience collecting eggs, feeding goats, watching sheep dogs, holding hens,seeing lambs and playing in the huge play field and down in the adventure trail! 

Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to come with us - it was a big help.

Reception have enjoyed working with clay today to make their own fossils. 

We were pretending to be real paleontologists, digging for bones and fossils using special tools. 

The children had a variety of objects to make imprints in the clay and enjoyed experimenting with the different textures.

Here is a skeleton of a dinosaur made with a sweetcorn!

Some children had a brilliant idea of using the dinosaurs from the small world to make dinosaur footprints in the clay. We excitedly tried it out and loved the marks it made!

Reception have worked hard to develop their skills in Expressive Arts & Design.
