We worked hard to design a Chinese dragon to celebrate Chinese New Year in reception. We used special fabric paints to carefully paint our design and worked together to make a scary dragon head! The children enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year; we learned a Chinese song and cooked some noodles and prawn crackers. Today we have been investigating how to measure in Reception. We measured aliens using our hands and feet then decided to see who was the tallest and who was the smallest in our class. We worked on recognising numbers up to 100! After our visit from the baker we decided to make our very own bakery. First we looked in recipe books to see how to make bread. We wrote our own recipe cards to follow and got straight to work. Here are some pictures of us making the bread to sell in our bakery. We even washed up all of our mess.
After reading the story of The Little Red Hen, a real baker visited our Reception class! We really enjoyed kneading the dough and making bread rolls. They were delicious :)
